Stain Removal Tips : Mud Stains

I hate MUD! One of the dirtiest thing on earth is mud and I don't want to see it inside my home or any of my things. And I bet you too! So here are some mud removal tips that you can try. :)


Fabric

1. Let the mud dry, and then brush off as much as possible.
2. Pretreat with a prewash stain remover.
3. Launder.

Upholstery

1. Let the mud dry, and then vacuum up as much as possible.
2. Mix one tablespoon of liquid hand dishwashing detergent with two cups of cool water.
3. Using a clean white cloth, sponge the stain with the detergent solution.
4. Blot until the liquid is absorbed.
5. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until the stain disappears.
6. Sponge with cold water and blot dry.

Carpet

1. Let the mud dry, and then vacuum up as much as possible.
2. Mix one tablespoon of liquid hand dishwashing detergent with two cups of warm water.
3. Using a clean white cloth, sponge the stain with the detergent solution.
4. Blot until the liquid is absorbed.
5. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until the stain disappears.
6. Sponge with cold water and blot dry.

Worth a Try

If the mud stains persist, it's possible that they were caused by iron-based clay. In that case, treat them as rust stains.
